Smart City requires data, technology and infrastructure, but a good part of the success depends on the connectivity of the territory, administrations, the economic sector and all citizens. In this context, the acceleration of the digital transition experienced over the last years has shown that the digital divide is another factor of exclusion that is added to traditionally disadvantaged groups. Our current internet-dependent lives will keep raising, and that makes broadband an essential utility that everyone should have access to, like electricity.
